Each year Goodwood Revival visitors are welcomed into the event via Gate 2, which is dressed each year according to a chosen anniversary. In 2023 the chosen theme was the circus – recalling and reliving the golden era of Big Top entertainment.
As part of the set dressing I was briefed to create illustrations of both a performing elephant and a circus lion in the style of early 1950s promotional material. These were then used to adorn the 40ft tall tripods that bridge the main pedestrian entrance.
